Cookie's Big Adventure Part IV

The Rolaids Story

As It Unfolded...

I got my SCARE of the day.

I woke up this morning to the usual sounds of Cookie exploring my office in the next room. No big deal really.

When I went in my office, he was perched on top of my computer chair, looking green, happy, and extremely proud of himself since he'd never been up there before. I thought it was quite amusing.

Upon seeing him so close to the top of my desk, I took a quick inventory on what was on top of there. I didn't see anything that could get him in too much trouble (except maybe the partial roll of Rolaids), and, quite frankly, I didn't think he'd go there.

Then I noticed that the "read" button on my caller ID box had been pressed. Obviously, he had already explored my desktop and was curious about who calls me on the telephone. I hope he didn't make any long distance calls to South America, or where ever he's from. My mother's phone number was on the box. Maybe he called her? Maybe he sent an Email...You never know. Stranger things have happened around this house.

He looked pretty content on my chair, so I didn't get too uptight about it, and went to the kitchen to prepare some food for him.

When I returned shortly afterwards, he was perched comfortably atop my computer monitor.

I thought this was kind of "cute," until, you guessed it, I noticed the partial roll of Rolaids was GONE!!! It figures that the ONE thing he could get into trouble with DISAPPEARED from my desk!

I gently took him down, and put him on his "usual" perch on the arm of my couch. He seemed OK, and his color was not "stressed." I put a piece of carrot up there (one of his MANY favorites), and let him be as I checked my Email. I was really concerned about the Rolaids, especially after reading the story about the swallowed penny on The Iguana Mailing List...

Fortunately, after about 1/2 hour of worrying, I found the Rolaids on the floor behind my desk. He had knocked them off, probably just to mess with me. They are now safely in a drawer (along with the tic-tac sized extra RED and GREEN tabs for my light timer!).
